In an innocent search for “love in a hopeless place,” Lauren contacted Mike, a trusted camp friend, for help finding her soulmate. Little did she know that this inquiry would change her life as she knew it. Mike, always eager to play matchmaker, connected Lauren and David despite mistakenly thinking David lived in Tampa, not Sarasota.

Although David and Lauren had never met before that night in March of 2016, they grew up at Camp Ramah Darom, her going first session and him going second session. Their mutual love for 70 Darom Lane and all of their mutual friends in common had them talking for hours.

Lauren returned to her apartment and told her two close friends, Shelby and Jenn, that she had found her future husband.

Their relationship wasn’t always perfect, but their dog, Louie, ensured they would always be connected even when living apart after Lauren moved to New York.

After a short time apart, David moved to New York to be reunited with Lauren and Louie.

These last 8+ years have been filled with unforgettable adventures and treasured memories.

From the heart-pounding rush of skydiving (which may have included a few broken fingers for David; Lauren was a little nervous and had a Superman grip), the exhilaration of multiple Florida theme parks, to singing along to countless Broadway musicals, eating their way through New York and trying every cuisine under the sun (but mostly sticking with pizza), they have certainly made the most of their time together.

The highlight of these last several years has undoubtedly been their recent European trip, specifically exploring the medieval beach town of Costa Brava. Lauren and David’s favorite memories have been snow days in Central Park with Louie, nostalgic 90s/early 2000s movie marathons, spontaneous dance parties in their living room (Lauren typically stars in those), and their treasured balcony dates. They laugh endlessly, joking that living together is like having an epic sleepover with your best friend every night. Here's to a lifetime of adventures, laughter, and love as they embark on this new chapter together! March 16 can't come soon enough!
